12/09/2017 8:00 am -6:00 pm
TBD

Competition Overview

Students participate in a simulated congressional hearing as the culminating activity for the We the People program. The entire class, working in cooperative teams, prepares and presents statements before a panel of community representatives who act as congressional committee members. Students then answer questions posed by the committee members. The format provides students an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of constitutional principles while providing teachers with an excellent means of assessing performance.

The We the People Arizona Regional Competitions are available to all Arizona middle and high schools and classrooms.

Helpful Tips for Completing the Registration Process

  1. Be prepared to enter information for each student.
  2. Member = Student
  3. Enter the exact total of students (members).
  4. Do not enter teacher information in the first section.  You will be asked in the "Educator Information" section to enter teacher contact info.
  5. Accurately complete the information for each student as the aggregate data is required and shared with our funders (Arizona Supreme Court and the Center for Civic Education) for continued funding for future year.
